Detentions

Detention time is not a social time.  Students are required to bring work to complete during detention, as well as necessary supplies.  If they do not have homework, they must read a book.  If a student does not have anything to read or work on, they will be asked to leave, and the detention will not count.

If a student is disruptive (talking, arguing with teacher, off task), the student will be asked to leave and will receive a Saturday School or suspension.

The purpose of school wide detention is to address student behavior which interferes with student learning and/or disrupts the learning environment.

** School Detention Reminder Slip

If assigned a detention, the reminder slip is given 24 hours in advance of the detention and is printed on Salmon colored paper.   Students are responsible for bringing it home to parents.

Teacher Detention

TEACHER DETENTION may be assigned by teachers for up to one hour per day for classroom consequences. Teachers may detain students for only 10 minutes after school on the same day but may give students one day notice for up to an hour detention assigned for the following day.
