Big Brothers Big Sisters

The BIG BROTHER/SISTER PROGRAM is the matching up of a 6th grader to either a 7th or 8th grader (Boy to boy, girl to girl). In addition to the minimum requirements, the program offers after school activities that are voluntary for attendance. We have during the year a game day, basketball tournament for girls and boys, volleyball tournament, and a BARBECUE/FUN DAY at the end of the year. Refreshments and food are free to the participants. Our goal this year is to make the tutoring a component for the 6th graders who need to be influenced in this way.

HOW TO JOIN?

Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader can join. The requirement is that once they are matched up they spend at least 15 minutes a week at lunch getting to know each other. The purpose is that this 7th or 8th grader can influence the 6th grader in a positive way either:

  1. Socially
  2. Personally,
    Or
  3. Academically.

Ask Mr. Grant, our counselor, for more information.
